Unbiased, Independent, Objective and Credible Appraisals

Our appraisals are prepared in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the ASA Principles of Appraisal Practice and Code of Ethics. We also meet and are compliant with the IRS Qualified Appraiser and Qualified Appraisal requirements.

Charitable Contributions and Estate or Gift Tax Preparation Liabilities

When you transfer personal property as a gift or inheritance, the IRS may require a Qualified Appraisal of the items in question. At Acanthus, we regularly assist our clients with their reporting requirements.

Identification, Management, Liquidation and Deaccession of Items in an Estate

Our Expertise

Our Principal, Analee McClellan, ASA, ISA AM, has extensive experience appraising various types of personal property, including 18th through 21st century furniture, silver, ceramics, glass, collectibles and decorations, as well as the general contents of homes and offices.

She additionally works closely with experts in specialized fields providing full service valuation services, both nationally and internationally, and managing complex and large assignments for clients.
